One of the most spectacular home holiday light shows anywhere is in Bill Vaughan's huge front yard of his house in Fairfax County, Virginia between Old Town Alexandria and Mount Vernon. There is music to go with the show played through speakers by the road and a low power FM signal for car radios. A retirement home across the street on a hill with a great view of the show has a lot where visitors can park to see the wonderful displays and listen to the music on their radios.
The picture below is taken from the Collingwod Lights Site, and there are eight more at the Pictures link there. It shows some of the leaping deer that are one of the fun parts of the presentations. The site has directions and some videos of past years' shows. They may start out fairly slowly, but keep watching as the action picks up. If you are in the Washington area during the holiday season, it is well worth the trip there, about half an hour from downtown, on a night with decent weather.
